Unbeatable, that's the only word we can use to open this post, and that plural adjective is already necessary for the stellar Nesta-FabricBike Team . Another victory, a double one again, this time at the Kantoikrit in Oñati. On this occasion, the yellow jersey of our team, already well-known throughout Spain, was worn by Luís Junquera (@luisso94) alongside his brother Mario Junquera (@canillu), who proudly displayed the trophy won at the Valencia criterium : an exclusive, customized FabricBike Light (which you can see below).

The Kantoikrit , as The Good Burger tells us and as Luís confirms, is one of the most anticipated events nationwide year after year. With a 100% urban route and sections reminiscent of the famous Paris-Roubaix due to its cobblestones, this fixed-gear race is, if not the most technical in the country, certainly one of them. Characterized by its nighttime setting and lack of a qualifying round (the race starts immediately after the reconnaissance lap, similar to the Japanese keirin), it is the perfect event for cycling enthusiasts.

The race started with a first lap that had a prize for whoever crossed the finish line in first position. It was the Basque and popular local runner Íñigo Mugarza who took it, and we say "took it" because perhaps this decision and physical exertion in the cold kept him from reaching the podium. Luís, although he entered the sprint game, conserved his strength, but his teammate Mario Junquera, with the incentive of the first lap, launched an unbeatable and progressive surge meter by meter throughout the race, until he had literally won it halfway through the circuit, only having to maintain his condition.

In the peloton, Luis rode elbow to elbow until the final six laps, where he launched his first attack. Despite a swift response, he still had plenty of energy left in his legs. A lap later, the Gijón native (nicknamed "playu") launched another attack, this time one that his competitors couldn't close. Mario, observing the situation, eased off a bit to complete a final, victorious lap to the podium. It was a distinctly local podium, with Mario in first place, Luis in bronze, and David Álvarez of the well-known Santa Catalina CC, who would have to battle local rider Íñigo Mugarza for the bronze, all from Gijón.

We're no longer talking about the start of the season, but about a successful season already underway, with a few more surprises in store, which we're sure will be very positive. Remember that you can follow our Nesta-FabricBike Team on Facebook and Instagram, and if you want to ride like them, don't miss the FabricBike Light here.

See you next time, riders!
